Be Grateful!

    Hi my name is Zoe.  My family and I recently went on a mission trip to Guatemala.  We took a plane and we stayed in Guatemala City for one day.  The next day we drove to Tactic in a van.  As we drove, I realized how different Guatemala is from the United States.  I also realized that Guatemala City is a very busy city. 

    When we got to Tactic we ate dinner and I made 3 friends named Maddie, Lucas, and Marvin that live there.  Most of the time I would play with my friends and we had fun exploring the surroundings.  And we found baby kittens.  They were so cute!  I am very thankful and happy I met Maddie, Lucas, and Marvin.  

    While we were in Tactic we were given a schedule and every day house visits would be included.  Sometimes they were sad and sometimes they were happy.  I remember the one house we visited was very small like the size of a closet, but the family that lived there loved God and were still thankful and full of joy.  That family encouraged me to be grateful for what I have in my life.  

    My favorite part of the trip was the Vacation Bible School that was put on for the schools.  The kids there would all run up and hug us and play with us each time we arrived. I made a lot of friends, even though I don't speak Spanish.  I am thankful I could go to Guatemala and would like to go again some day!
